De aru である

Predicative phrase used in written or formal language instead of da/desu to explicitly affirm the preceding statement

1. After (adjectival) noun

金閣寺は１４世紀に建てられた寺である。

Kinkakuji wa juu yon seiki ni taterareta tera de aru.

Kinkakuji is a temple built in the fourteenth century.

2. After dictionary form of verb/adjective + no

こうすれば問題は解決されるのである。

Kou sureba mondai wa kaiketsu sareru no de aru.

The problem will be solved in this way.

結局彼のいうことが正しいのである。

Kekkyoku kare no iu koto ga tadashii no de aru.

After all what he says is correct.
